Final awards for HEIF 3 announced

HEFCE and the Department of Trade & Industry announced today the final awards under the Higher Education Innovation Fund (HEIF) round 3.

HEIF is a joint scheme run by HEFCE and the Office of Science and Innovation (OSI). The final awards, totalling £52 million, are for 11 projects that will explore innovations in knowledge exchange, which will lead to increased economic and social benefit for the country. The projects involve major collaborations between over 40 HEIs addressing regional, national and international opportunities.

These awards complete funding under HEIF 3, which also involves formula funding for all English HEIs and Centres for Knowledge Exchange, with total allocations of £238 million.

The final allocations of funding under HEIF 3 were published in HEFCE 2006/30.
