Biography and registered interests

Sara Weller is a Non-Executive Director on the board of Lloyds Banking Group, and a Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee at United Utilities plc. She is on the Council at Cambridge University and also Chair of their Remuneration Committee. She was previously a Visiting Fellow at Said Business School.

She is currently Lead Non-Executive Director on the Departmental Board of DWP (Department for Work and Pensions).

Sara is a former Managing Director of Argos Limited at Home Retail Group, and held senior roles at Abbey National plc and J Sainsbury plc, when she also served on the Government Advisory Committee on Advertising, and was also a Non-Executive Director, and Chair of the Remuneration Committee, on the Board of Mitchells and Butlers plc.

Sara is currently Chair of the HEFCE Quality, Accountability and Regulation Strategic Advisory Committee and chaired the HEFCE Review into TRAC (Transparent Approach to Costing) which reported in Spring 2013. She graduated with an MA in Chemistry from New College, Oxford in 1983.

She was appointed to the Board in July 2011 and re-appointed for a further three year term in 2014.
