The institutional team consists of:


Yvonne Hawkins
Associate Director, Midlands and South

Yvonne joined HEFCE in September 2008 as the Associate Director for the South and Midlands. Yvonne leads the South and Midlands institutional team, providing strategic oversight and executive direction for the Council's work in these regions. Prior to this Yvonne was a Director of the Arts and Humanities Research Council.


Yvonne Perry
Regional Consultant, Midlands and South

Yvonne leads on the Council’s interaction with HEIs in the South West, and has oversight of regional developments, maintaining contact with regional agencies and stakeholders as appropriate.  She has worked for HEFCE since 1996 in a variety of roles, including Regional Consultant for the Midlands and is the Council’s stakeholder relationship manager for the Equality Challenge Unit and the Leadership Foundation.


Ed Hughes
Regional Consultant, Midlands and South

As Regional Consultant, Ed leads on the Council's interaction with universities and colleges largely in the South East. He has oversight of regional developments and maintains contact on behalf of the Council with regional agencies and stakeholders. Prior to becoming Regional Consultant in April 2009, Ed was the RAE Manager, overseeing the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise on behalf of the UK HE funding bodies.


Tracy Allan
Regional Consultant, Midlands and South 

Tracy leads on the Council's interaction with universities and colleges in the East and West Midlands, and has oversight of regional developments and maintains contact on behalf of the Council with regional agencies and stakeholders across the Midlands. Tracy has worked for HEFCE since 1991 and, prior to becoming a Regional Consultant, was a Senior Policy Advisor in the Learning and Teaching Policy team where she led on teaching funding policy, including student number controls. Before that she had regional consultant responsibilities for HEIs in Devon and Cornwall. She has also worked in the Leadership, Governance and Management Policy team and the London Institutional team.
