HEFCE people
Council policies are decided by Board members, who are responsible for the strategic direction of the organisation. There are between 12 and 15 Board members.
A number of standing committees and working groups advise the Chief Executive and Board on specific issues.
Policies are then developed and put into practice by HEFCE’s staff, based within three directorates.
A searchable staff list includes telephone numbers and e-mail addresses. Staff are mainly based at Northavon House in Bristol. We also have a base in London, which is used for Board, committee and group meetings.
See our Who's who at HEFCE chart [Adobe PDF 121K] for an overview of HEFCE's structure.
Institutional teams
HEFCE’s institutional teams are responsible for managing our relations with universities and colleges.
