How to request changes to the LARA for HE learning aims

This page describes the process for updating HE learning aims already on the Data Service's Learning Aim Reference Application (LARA). To add a new learning aim onto the LARA, please see how to register a new learning aim on the LARA.

Any enquiries about missing or incorrect learner aim type or Learndirect codes for recognised HE courses on the LARA should be e-mailed to heifes@hefce.ac.uk. We shall then liaise with the Data Service on the institution's behalf.

We will require the following information:

  • learning aim reference
  • learning aim title
  • current awarding body
  • suggested awarding body (if applicable)
  • current learning aim type displayed on the LARA
  • suggested learning aim type (if applicable)
  • current LDCS code displayed on the LARA
  • current LDCS code (2) displayed on the LARA
  • current LDCS code (3) displayed on the LARA
  • list of (up to) 3 subject areas for the HE qualification (if applicable).
