HESA and ILR data used to inform the 2013-14 provisional student number control (SNC) allocation
Description
Early in 2013, we informed institution of their provisional student number control limit for 2013-14, and gave information on how this provisional limit had been calculated using HESA and ILR data.

For ILR amendments select 'ILR FAMD data 2010-11: funding data reconciliations', then select 'APIABB10 data collection'.

Proposed method for identifying students newly excluded from the 2013-14 student number control using HESA data
Description
As summarised in 'Student number controls and teaching funding in 2013-14 and beyond: Summary of responses to consultation and decisions made' (HEFCE 2012/19) some changes will be made to the way that student number control (SNC) limits are set for 2013-14 compared to 2012-13. In particular the implementation of some of these changes will be informed by HESA data.

Proposed method for identifying students with very high entry grades
Description
In August 2011, we announced our intention to use 2010-11 HESA data to inform the 2012-13 Student Number Control (SNC). For further information see 2009-10 supplementary derived statistics exercises (under 'Proposed method for identifying students with very high entry grades to inform the 2012-13 Student Number Control (SNC) using HESA data'). To help institutions return accurate data to HESA, we have provided an additional output for the 2010-11 web facility (which can be found on the HEFCE extranet).

Research degree programme (RDP) supervision fund
Descriptions
In 'Discontinuation of the Research Activity Survey and future arrangements for data collection', we announced our intention to use HESA data to inform the 2012-13 Research Degree Programme (RDP) supervision fund. This is the first time that HESA data have been used for this purpose and this exercise is concerned with providing institutions the opportunity to check their data and, where appropriate, to submit any necessary corrections.
