The Leadership, Governance and Management Fund (LGMF) was established in 2004 to provide esteem and recognition for leadership, governance and management and to promote the development and embedding of good practice in these areas within the HE sector. In 2007 a further £10 million was added to the fund.
This report analyses the reasons why some applications made to the fund during 2006 and 2007 failed to progress with a view to improving process.
The study found misunderstandings among the HE sector about the purpose of the fund and recommended that the guidance given to potential applicants should be improved.
