Amendment to the funding agreements of 20 July 2009: Final distribution of new student places for 2009-10

Dear Vice-Chancellor or Principal

1.   HEFCE Circular letter 15/2009, dated 28 July 2009, notified institutions of their provisional share of 10,000 full-time undergraduate places. This letter confirms the final distribution of places. No action is required in response.

2.   Circular letter 15/2009 requested that institutions contact us if they did not intend to use all the places available to them so that we could redistribute them to institutions that were able to use them. We have redistributed returned places to other institutions pro-rata to their provisional allocations, but subject to any overall limits they have specified.

3.   Annex A now confirms the final distribution of places for all institutions and should be read in conjunction with the guidance provided in HEFCE Circular letter 15/2009.

4.   Any questions from institutions about this letter should be addressed to HEFCE's institutional teams.
