Current and future demand for higher education and the provision and supply options in East Manchester

HEFCE commissioned consultants PwC to assess the current and future demand for higher education and the provision and supply options in East Manchester. The study developed a demand and supply analysis and took into account stakeholder views, data analysis and a local economic assessment to build a picture of the educational landscape in the area.

The study found insufficient evidence to support the need for a university or university centre in East Manchester, but made some recommendations about the wider educational context in this geographical area.
