Documents for institutions

Documents relating to the 2017-18 allocations were released at several points during the year.

Announcement dateDocuments released
October 2017

Specific institutions received:

  • an updated set of 2017-18 tables. This was only the case where their data had been amended since the July announcement.
July 2017 All institutions received:
  • individualised 2017-18 grant tables. Not all institutions saw changes from April.
  • their funding agreements for 2017-18.
April 2017 All institutions received:
  • a grant letter
  • individualised 2017-18 grant tables
  • technical guidance providing a comprehensive explanation of the contents of the tables.

The expandable tabs at the bottom of this page provide template copies of these documents, along with grant tables that provide information for the HE sector as a whole. Institutions can access their individualised documents through the HEFCE extranet.

Queries from institutions should be addressed to the HEFCE higher education policy adviser (HEPA) for their institution.

Funding agreements

The Funding Agreement sets out terms and conditions of grant that apply to institutions. For higher education institutions (HEIs), the funding agreement is part of their memorandum of assurance and accountability and also specifies any requirements that are applied to the numbers of medical and dental students at an institution.

Further education and sixth form colleges (FECs) do not have a similar memorandum with us, as they are accountable to the Education and Skills Funding Agency, not to HEFCE.
