Activities include:

  • extending the region’s lead in advanced manufacturing
  • harnessing the university’s creativity in advanced engineering to unlock the potential of the region’s emerging medical devices and connected healthcare and assistive technology sectors
  • using the university’s  strengths in software testing, data analytics and simulation to underpin the digital technology sectors.

Activity will include collaborative and applied research, graduate entrepreneurship and postgraduate applied studentships.

A short film has been created showcasing one of these success stories and the benefits gained by both the local SME, Ceramisys, and the PhD student.

Private sector partners include: Accenture, Alpha rooms, ARM, Boeing, Carpenter Technology Corporation, Costain, IBM , Mori Seike, Mott Macdonald, Sandvik, Spirit Aerosystems, Starrag Group, STFC Hartree centre, Thales, Wandisco and Zoo Digital.

The project has the support of the Sheffield City Region Local Enterprise Partnership.
