Performance indicators

Between 1999 and 2003, we published performance indicators (PIs) for higher education. Since 2004 the tables have been published by the Higher Education Statistics Agency.

Data collection

We run data collection exercises to support our funding allocation process. The following links provide access to publications, frequently asked questions and other resources associated with these exercises.

Funding and monitoring data

To inform and monitor funding allocations, we use data that we receive from universities and colleges with data they submit to the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) and the Data Service (through the Individualised Learner Record (ILR)) respectively.
