Learning and teaching capital funding 2006-08
In January 2005 we published HEFCE 2005/08, setting out arrangements for learning and teaching capital (and research and infrastructure capital) for higher education institutions for 2006 to 2008. The total sum available is £550 million. Funding will be up to 90 per cent of programme costs for learning and teaching.
The document invited institutions to submit proposals for use of these capital grants using an online submission system. Guidance for institutions' learning and teaching capital co-ordinators for the 2006-08 process is available. 508 projects have been submitted.

Project capital round three
In previous years capital funding for learning and teaching and IT has been provided through project capital allocations. Further information on Project capital round three, which is ongoing, is available.
Capital funding for further education colleges
The allocations of capital funding for learning and teaching infrastructure, and for investment in e-learning, in further education colleges (FECs) funded directly by HEFCE are provided in Circular letter 11/2005. A total of £22 million is available through these allocations, for activity undertaken from now until July 2006.
Capital funding for indirectly funded FECs (including colleges that are members of HEFCE-recognised consortia led by a higher education institution) was announced in HEFCE 2005/08.
