Funding method for teaching from 2004-05
Following consultation with the sector on proposals to develop our methods for funding teaching, and widening access and improving retention for 2004-05 and beyond, we have published our Funding method for teaching 2004-05 (HEFCE 2004/24).
This document sets out changes to the funding method for teaching that have been implemented following responses to the consultation, and provides a summary of those responses.
Information on the general principles of how HEFCE allocates its funds to universities and colleges is available.
Supporting reports and simulation of funding outcomes
To coincide with the consultation we published reports of studies which informed the proposals made in HEFCE 2003/42, along with a simulation of the funding implications for individual institutions and a mapping of learndirect codes to price groups. These documents are available to download below.
