Leadership, Governance and Management Fund

We have invested in improving leadership, governance and management in the higher education (HE) sector through the Leadership, Governance and Management (LGM) Fund. A total of £10 million has been available over three years from August 2007 to July 2010.

We have used the fund to support the following activities:

• Projects funded
• Leading transformational change
• Leading sustainable development in higher education

Evaluation

We have commissioned an evaluation of the fund's impact that will include recommendations to the HEFCE Board about how we can support future development of good practice in leadership, governance and management in the HE sector.

Events

Each year we have held a joint conference with the Leadership Foundation for Higher Education to share outcomes of LGM Fund projects and video highlights are available for two conferences.

• Leadership, innovation, excellence in higher education (2008 conference)

All videos are provided and hosted externally by the event video specialists 2.0.

Sector impact assessment

In developing the LGM Fund, we have undertaken a formal assessment of the impact it will have on the HE sector in terms of regulatory burden, equality and diversity, and sustainable development.
