Equal opportunities monitoring
Like all public authorities, HEFCE has a duty under the Race Relations (Amendment) Act 2000, the Disability Discrimination Act 2005, and the Equality Act 2006 to promote race, disability, and gender equality. As part of our Equality Scheme, we are monitoring the position of all types of staff in higher education, and all students undertaking programmes of higher education, by ethnicity, disability, and gender.
The results of our monitoring are summarised in the equal opportunities monitoring tables below. In 2007, we published a detailed update to our study on staff in higher education. In this document we have included the equal opportunities data about all staff from the 2005-06 data collection, at a sector level, by race, disability and gender. We will, therefore, not be publishing tables to download separately on this page as we have done in previous years.
