Building best practice

We recognise our role in facilitating the sharing of existing best practice on sustainable development and the building of new good practice where none exists.

In August 2007 we launched a sustainable development resource guide dedicated to raising the visibility of existing good practice. It is a signposting site to resources and organisations that may be useful for all who deal with sustainable development issues in higher education.

Our Leadership, Governance and Management Fund aims to encourage the development of good practice and provide measurable change in the quality of management and organisational performance. Further information on projects funded to date, including those on sustainable development, is available.

We want to help institutions explore how sustainable development can be embedded holistically, so are also funding projects relating to sustainable development through other funding initiatives including Centres for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETLs), the Higher Education Innovation Fund (HEIF), and the Strategic Development Fund (SDF).
