Student Support Fund for international students affected by the revocation

The Task Force has established a Student Support Fund to help students who have incurred additional costs as a result of the revocation.

Who can apply?

If you are an international London Metropolitan University student or applicant with full and proper immigration status at the time of the revocation, and you have been financially affected by the UK Border Agency’s decision to revoke London Metropolitan University’s licence to sponsor international students, you can apply to the Fund.

You will need to show that you have sustained additional costs as a direct result of the revocation.

What does the fund cover?

The fund covers three areas:

  • the cost of a new visa (if you are moving to a new institution and need to apply for a new visa)
  • the cost of additional tuition fees (if you are transferring to a new institution which charges more than London Metropolitan University and/or if you are required to repeat elements of your course)
  • other additional costs, such as for accommodation (for example, if you need to move to be near your new institution but you have already paid a non-refundable deposit on your existing accommodation), or increased travel expenses.

How can I find out more / make an application?

Below are a list of frequently asked questions and an application form. Applications must be received by 31 October 2012. We will exceptionally consider applications received after this date.

Don’t forget that if you need academic advice, counselling or technical assistance with the online clearing house process or with your re-enrolment at London Metropolitan University, you can contact the London Metropolitan University Help Centre on 0207 133 4141, e-mail international@londonmet.ac.uk, or stop by the walk-in centre at the Holloway Road campus on the 3rd Floor Tower Building.
