From 2014, HEFCE ceased to fund and administer the Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education survey for further education colleges (FECs). This change reflects the Government’s aim to create a ‘level playing field’ between all types of higher education providers.
However the previous year (2013-14), was an interim year while colleges became familiar with the new arrangements. For this, HEFCE subsidised, at a rate of 50 per cent, the cost for the second collection (the survey conducted in January 2014 covering graduates from 2012-13).
Colleges were invoiced for 50 per cent of the total cost of the January 2014 collection. The costs are based on information supplied to us by i-graduate who undertook the survey on behalf of the sector that year.
