Funding for the projects

In August 2016 we invited HEFCE-funded institutions to submit proposals to HEFCE’s Catalyst Fund for small-scale projects (up to £50,000 per project) to develop experimental innovative activity in learning and teaching. Proposals should support innovations in either undergraduate or postgraduate taught provision and deliver short-term outputs over an 18-month period.

We were particularly, but not exclusively, interested in proposals which:

  • develop curriculum innovations from interdisciplinary research, interdisciplinary professional practice or both
  • respond to employer demands for advanced skills or knowledge (but note that we will be funding development of degree apprenticeships under a separate call in the autumn)
  • develop use of learner analytics for particular pedagogic purposes.
