Information about TEF Year Two

HEFCE implemented TEF Year Two during 2016-17, on behalf of the Department for Education (DfE). The Government introduced this first year of TEF assessments as a trial year. A lessons learned exercise was carried out to inform the future development of TEF.

The outcomes of TEF Year Two were published in June 2017. A provider’s TEF outcome may change subsequently. An update is available here.

TEF Year Two panel members and assessors

The TEF panel, comprised of students, academics, widening participation experts and employers, are responsible for deciding the assessment outcomes. Decisions are based on recommendations and advice from a wider pool of academic and student assessors.

The panel has been appointed for their standing with higher education providers and students, and significant commitment to excellence in learning and teaching.
