The institutional sustainability agenda, developed by the Financial and Sustainability Strategy Group (FSSG), will play a role in the Government’s new regulatory framework for higher education. The sector will probably implement it as an example of ‘voluntary self-regulation’ that will be put into practice in the Committee of University Chairs (CUC) Code of Governance.

This will have implications for all institutions, some of which have already been explored and tested by the universities which piloted the FSSG approach in 2012.  There will also be changes to the calculation of the full economic cost of research projects with the introduction of the new Margin for Sustainability and Investment replacing the TRAC cost adjustments.

Who should attend?

This conference will provide an opportunity for university governors and senior officers to hear the latest thinking from the CUC and FSSG, and from universities already using this approach to managing their own sustainability, and to examine the implications for their own institutions.
