This half-day seminar is suitable for higher education institutions who have a deadline submission of annual assurance reports to HEFCE of Monday 3 April 2017. It is open to chairs and other governors with a responsibility for the duty.

The purpose of the seminar is, in a confidential environment, to:

  • focus on the requirements for governing bodies in relation to the Prevent annual reporting process
  • enable board members to review their institution's approach to compliance with the Prevent Duty, with a specific focus on the assurance role required of governing bodies
  • provide opportunities for participants to exchange views and practices on how governing bodies obtain such assurance from their institutions.
