The deadline for registering for this workshop is 23 August 2017

Topics include:

  • HEFCE funding rules and definitions
  • how funding is calculated from data
  • a step-by-step guide to completing the tables
  • the timescales and processes for data verification.

The event will involve hands-on training in completing your HESES17 data return.

People who have previously completed HESES should bear in mind that the workshop will be aimed at those with no prior experience. Experienced practitioners may wish to attend the afternoon session on completing the updated 2017-18 tables for nursing, midwifery and allied health courses.

Register for the workshop

Please note there is no charge for attending the workshop.

We welcome up to two delegates per institution. Please contact us at recurrentgrant@hefce.ac.uk if you would like more than two delegates to attend and we will hold a waiting list.

Who should attend

Delegates need no previous knowledge of the HESES return to attend, but we recommend that they know about the types of higher education courses at their institution (for example, how and when they are delivered), as well as their institution’s data collection systems.

We also recommend that delegates read our Guide to Funding 2017-18 before they attend.

Afternoon session

In July we issued a circular letter with details of changes to the HESES survey for 2017-18 compared to the previous year. This included a draft version of the HESES17 workbook.

We do not intend to hold a training session specifically on all the changes but the HESES17 beginners’ workshop will include an afternoon session on completing the updated tables for nursing, midwifery and allied health courses.

For more experienced people at institutions required to complete these tables, it is possible to attend the afternoon session only.

Include a question in the workshop

If there are specific areas or questions you would like to be included in the workshop, please email recurrentgrant@hefce.ac.uk.
