Universities and colleges play an important role in supporting both national and local growth and the availability of robust data is critical in providing a solid base of evidence and a clear intervention logic and performance framework for investment.

This event will launch ‘HE Cold Spots’ – new and highly detailed data maps of the provision of higher education across England. Presented visually using accessible maps, this powerful new interactive tool can provide evidence to support the role of HE providers in their localities.

Detailed information includes:

  • Provision of advanced and higher level skills, graduate employment, retention and mobility in employment – each critically important to the sector growth priorities of the Strategic Economic Plans of Local Enterprise Partnerships.
  • Take up of higher education at very local levels – highlighting those neighbourhoods where more can be done to improve social inclusion through widening participation.
