'Investing in HE to meet the country's needs': HEFCE Annual Conference 2006

The overall purpose of this year's conference for heads of higher education institutions was to identify the funding requirements for delivering higher education to meet the country's needs. The outcomes will be invaluable as we plan for the 2007 Comprehensive Spending Review.
The conference included speakers such as Bill Rammell, Higher Education Minister, Professor Richard Scase, a business strategist, and Sue Campbell CBE, Chair of UK Sport. There were also brief presentations to show 'HE in action', focusing on two Centres of Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETLs).
