Sustainable development consultation seminars
Sustainable event organisation
We considered sustainability in the organisation of these seminars and choice of venues. We ensured that:
- venues were easily accessible via public transport
- refreshments were Fair Trade, organic or locally sourced where possible
- all seminar correspondence to delegates was, where practicable, be sent via e-mail and made available on our web-site to minimise waste
- information was be printed double-sided on 100 per cent recycled paper
- recycling points were be available around the venues (we asked delegates to return their badges and any unwanted materials so we could reuse and recycle them)
- all catering was be served using non-disposable crockery and cutlery and we avoided using bottled water where possible.
