Sustainable development consultation seminars

Sustainable event organisation

We considered sustainability in the organisation of these seminars and choice of venues. We ensured that:

  • venues were easily accessible via public transport
  • refreshments were Fair Trade, organic or locally sourced where possible
  • all seminar correspondence to delegates was, where practicable, be sent via e-mail and made available on our web-site to minimise waste
  • information was be printed double-sided on 100 per cent recycled paper
  • recycling points were be available around the venues (we asked delegates to return their badges and any unwanted materials so we could reuse and recycle them)
  • all catering was be served using non-disposable crockery and cutlery and we avoided using bottled water where possible.
