'TRAC in a New Funding Environment'

11 October 2010

A conference for TRAC practitioners on the current issues affecting TRAC Monday 11 October 2010 at the Mermaid Conference and Events Centre, Puddle Dock, Blackfriars, London, EC4V 3DB

Context

During the past year the TRAC Development Group (TDG) has been working to take forward the strategic, policy, cultural and technical issues around the use and development of TRAC. The recent guidance updates together with the management information projects are moving TRAC forwards in a way that enables institutions to engage with and embed TRAC further.

The Higher Education landscape is changing and the sector is facing challenges as a result of reductions in government funding. The recent Wakeham review is an example of the scrutiny that the sector is coming under to deliver greater value for money. In this context it was testimony to the sector that the Wakeham review fully endorsed the work of the TDG and drew on the TRAC data to inform its work.

The conference aims to update TRAC Managers and other institutional staff on current and future developments affecting TRAC and provide an opportunity for sharing knowledge and experiences.

The conference will provide an opportunity for TRAC practitioners to debate issues and provide feedback to the TDG.

Objectives of the conference

  • Brief TRAC practitioners on issues and developments in TRAC, and the TRAC Development Group's (TDG) plans and actions.
  • Provide practical information to enable the continued development and enhancement of TRAC processes within institutions.
  • Give the opportunity for networking and discussion in small group sessions, larger workshops, and during breaks.
  • Obtain feedback for the TDG on current topics and plans and any other areas of concern.
