HEFCE Annual Conference 2010

21 October 2010

Navigating through a challenging landscape

HEFCE's annual conference is attended by vice-chancellors and principals of universities and colleges, and leaders of partner organisations.

This year's conference, coming so close after the spending review and just a week after publication of the Browne review of student fees, presented a timely opportunity to look at the challenges and opportunities currently facing the higher education sector, especially:

  • the proposed new funding settlement for higher education
  • the Council's role in managing change
  • some of the policy challenges that face learning and teaching in universities and colleges.

This year's event, held on 21 October, was held at the Royal College of Physicians building in central London.
