HEFCE Annual Conference 2011
06 April 2011
Achieving excellence in a new world
HEFCE's annual conference took place in Birmingham and attracted a large group of heads of HEFCE-funded higher education institutions and leaders of partner organisations.
This year's conference was on the theme of achieving excellence in a new world, in view of the planned changes to higher education funding and finance, and the anticipated government White Paper on higher education. It therefore offered a timely forum for discussion.
Sir Alan Langlands and Vince Cable spoke, and there were presentations by representatives from the academic and student communities.
