Survey shows where students go after university
HEFCE welcomes the publication of a survey published today by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) on the destinations of leavers of higher education three and a half years after graduation. The new data will supplement the findings of the annual first destination survey, which takes place six months after graduation. HESA undertakes the surveys to shed light on the ongoing career development of graduates.
Liz Beaty, HEFCE Director for Learning and Teaching, said:
'HEFCE welcomes the publication of this first set of data looking at what graduates are doing three and a half years after graduation. This is an important survey which will help us to develop a clear picture of how graduates progress in their careers beyond the first destination survey. It is very encouraging to see such a high proportion of graduates in 'graduate' occupations and such low levels who are unemployed. We are also encouraged by the high rates of satisfaction that graduates have with their study and career choices'.
