Many of HEFCE's functions will be continued by the Office for Students, the new regulator of higher education in England, and Research England, the new council within UK Research and Innovation.

The HEFCE domain - www.hefce.ac.uk - will continue to function until September 2018. At this point we will close the site entirely and all its information will only be available from the National Web Archive.

The HEFCE Board relies on these committees for advice on the effectiveness of its funding strategies. We wish to make a number of new appointments to our committees. These positions provide a unique opportunity to contribute to higher education at a challenging period in its development. You can learn about our strategic activities from www.hefce.ac.uk.

You can get details of these positions from the following contacts:

We are keen to recruit new members from education, business and the professions, as well as to enhance the diversity of the membership of the committees. We therefore particularly welcome applications from under-represented groups including women, disabled people and people from an ethnic minority background.

These are unpaid fixed-term appointments but we pay expenses.

If you believe you have the knowledge and expertise to add value as a member then please e-mail a one-page application statement to the committee contact above by midnight on 2 August 2009.
