The tables below explain the various fields and codes used in the timeline and the information to which it links.
| Date | This is the date on the available information. |
|---|---|
| Format | This is the format in which the information was originally received. In some cases the 'format' refers to an event or a meeting and so there is no other supporting information. |
| From / To | This indicates who sent and received the information (where applicable). |
| Description | This provides a summary of the information's content. |
| View item | The number of the item comes from an in-house system of referencing. (Please note reference numbers are not created consecutively so gaps in the numbering do not reflect missing items.) |
The following key explains the codes used where we have removed material in the available items.
| Code | Explanation |
|---|---|
| S 40(2) | Some individuals (generally those below the level of the senior management team in HEFCE and the equivalent for other organisations referred to in the material) have been replaced with a unique identifier to track their correspondence without identifying them personally. This is to ensure their rights under the Data Protection Act are not breached. These identifiers are prefixed by another code which identifies the team within HEFCE or the organisation for which the individual works. These prefix codes are explained below. |
| Assurance, ASG, INS, Priv | These codes signify individuals who work or worked for HEFCE. You can track the involvement of an individual by following all the links of, for example ASG 1 S40(2). |
| LMU | This code signifies individuals who work or worked for London Metropolitan University. You can track the involvement of an individual by following all the links of, for example, LMU 1 S40(2). |
| BDO, PwC, KPMG | These are independent firms of accountants and consultants who have been commissioned to undertake a particular piece of work for us. |
| S43(2) | This codes signifies information which refers to other institutions and does not relate to this timeline of events at London Metropolitan University. It has been removed to ensure that the commercial interests of those organisations are not affected. |
| Not related to the timeline | This text may appear generally either side of an extract. It signifies subject matter unrelated to dealings with London Metropolitan University. |
| Legally privileged information | This information relates to communications or discussions with our legal advisors. It has been removed because it is 'legally privileged'. Legal privilege is intended to provide confidentiality between professional legal advisors and clients to ensure openness between them, and to safeguard access to fully informed, realistic and frank advice. |
