HEFCE closed at the end of March 2018. The information on this website is historical and is no longer maintained.

Many of HEFCE's functions will be continued by the Office for Students, the new regulator of higher education in England, and Research England, the new council within UK Research and Innovation.

The HEFCE domain - www.hefce.ac.uk - will continue to function until September 2018. At this point we will close the site entirely and all its information will only be available from the National Web Archive.

We wish to make a number of new appointments to our committees. These positions provide a unique opportunity to contribute to higher education at a critical period in its development. You can learn about our strategic activities from www.hefce.ac.uk.

We are keen to recruit new members from education, business, the third sector, and the professions, as well as to improve the diversity of the membership of the committees; we welcome applications from under-represented groups including women, disabled people and people from an ethnic minority background.

These are unpaid fixed-term appointments but we pay expenses.

Applications should address the specification and must include our equalities monitoring form, which are available from the following contacts:

If you believe you have the knowledge and expertise to add value as a member please e-mail a one-page application statement to the appropriate committee's e-mail address above by midnight on 27 May 2010. You can expect to hear from us by early July.
