The funding bodies are pleased to announce appointments of the four main panel chairs designate for the first Research Excellence Framework (REF) exercise.

The funding bodies are pleased to announce appointments of the four main panel chairs designate for the first Research Excellence Framework (REF) exercise. These are:

Main Panel A: Professor Stephen Townley Holgate – MRC Clinical Professor of Immunopharmacology, University of Southampton
Main Panel B: Professor Dame Ann Dowling – Head of Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge
Main Panel C: Professor Dame Janet Finch – Professor of Sociology, University of Manchester
Main Panel D: Professor Bruce Brown – Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research, Economic and Social Engagement), University of Brighton.

Following the announcement of a year delay, the timetable for the REF has now been published.

The REF Equality and Diversity Advisory Group has also been established and has held a successful first meeting.
