Following consultation, the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) has announced a new method of institutional review. The new method is described in a handbook and operational description published by QAA today.
The aim of the new system is to create a quality assurance system for higher education in England and Northern Ireland that is accountable, rigorous, transparent, responsive, and public facing.
New elements of the review method include: greater flexibility, more student involvement, graded judgements, a focus on a different thematic element each year, and more accessible reports.
