Universities are invited to provide case studies of the many and varied ways they are contributing to the Olympic and Paralympic Games, to be showcased during Universities Week 2012.
Two reports to be launched during the week will use case studies to demonstrate the sector's contribution to the London 2012 Games, the wider UK sports industry, and UK society, culture and community as a whole.
Case studies may include everything from athletes who are competing in the Games or students who are volunteering, through to research, development, business and cultural contributions, such as stories about students volunteering in the community, or local people using on-campus sports facilities.
HEFCE is compiling a submission of case studies covering HEFCE-funded projects; universities wishing to be included in this should contact Rachel Cowie, e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org, tel 0117 931 7032. Other case studies should be submitted individually.
HEFCE is one of the supporters of Universities Week, an annual event that aims to increase public awareness of the wide and varied role of the UK’s universities. This year's event, from 30 April to 7 May, will incorporate the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games as its overarching theme.
