HEFCE and the Office for Fair Access (OFFA) have today published correspondence with the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), relating to the development of a national strategy for access and student success in higher education.
This follows a request for a shared strategy by autumn 2013 from Vince Cable, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation & Skills and David Willetts, Minister for Universities and Science.
HEFCE and OFFA have set out the approach they will take, working with the sector and building on their existing close relationship. They also outline the additional research and analysis they will carry out to improve the evidence base of what works best in widening participation to higher education.
