The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) has announced a new member of the HEFCE Board.
Suzy Walton is a Chartered Scientist, a Chartered Occupational Psychologist and a Chartered Director. She has a portfolio of board roles and over a decade’s experience in central government.
Suzy is Deputy Chairman of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce (RSA), the University of Westminster and the Internet Watch Foundation which regulates the internet against some aspects of criminality. She is also on the board of the veterans' mental health charity Combat Stress, and sits on several government committees including the Ethics Group of the National DNA Database (Home Office) and the National Specialist Commissioning Group (Department of Health). Previously she was on the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs’s Science Advisory Council.
Suzy has over a decade’s experience as a senior civil servant and has served in the Cabinet Office, the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit and the Ministry of Defence.
