He replaces current Chair, Professor Dame Julia Goodfellow, who will be taking up the role of President of Universities UK.

The role of FSSG is to help the sector understand, manage and communicate its academic and financial sustainability.

The FSSG is inviting views on its future role and its potential future programme for beyond 2015-16 when its current programme and funding come to an end.

The deadline for responses is Friday 31 July 2015.
