Madeleine Atkins, Chief Executive of HEFCE, said:

‘This award recognises the exceptional contribution Tim has made to higher education at a national level and, in particular, his commitment to HEFCE throughout his tenure as its Chair. It is thoroughly deserved and will be welcomed by all who have worked with Tim over the years.’

Tim was originally appointed as Chair of the HEFCE Board in January 2008 and his current term of office will cease on 31 March 2018. In addition, he currently chairs the Homerton University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and is President of the Institute of Business Ethics.
