Project capital round three - final allocations

In May 2003 we invited applications for funding in 'Project capital round three' (HEFCE 2003/26). We included, at Annex A, provisional allocations for 2004-06 and stated that final allocations would be confirmed on the basis of the final 2003-04 allocations for standard teaching resource and widening access. These final recurrent grant allocations were confirmed in HEFCE 2003/53.

We have re-calculated the project capital round three allocations, based on the final 2003-04 recurrent grant allocations. These are at Annex A to this letter. We have provided additional funding where institutions have gained through this process, but have not reduced funding for HEIs below that announced as provisional allocations. The additional funding amounts to £788,125. Where institutions receive additional funding, we have confirmed with them how this money will be spent.

The allocations relating to franchised students, shown in Annex B to HEFCE 2003/26, are unchanged.
