Executive summary

Purpose

1. This publication provides details of funds allocated on behalf of the Department for Education and Employment (DfEE), to support the development of Graduate Apprenticeship (GA) frameworks.

Key points

2. GA frameworks combine existing higher education qualifications with work-based learning, underpinned by NVQ and Key Skills units, and are designed to improve the employment skills of new graduates.

3. In April 2001 we allocated £3,853,606 to 47 higher education institutions (HEIs) and three further education colleges (FECs), to develop and deliver 79 GA frameworks. Funds have been allocated from May 2001 to August 2002.
