Executive summary

Purpose

1. This document lists the funding allocated from the Higher Education Innovation Fund (HEIF) during 2001-02 to 2004-05 and provides details of the assessment and award process.

Key points

2. The HEIF competition was administered by the HEFCE in co-ordination with the Office of Science and Technology, which concurrently administered the Public Sector Research Exploitation Fund and the second rounds of University Challenge and Science Enterprise Challenge.

3. Bids for funding were called for in HEFCE 01/34, 'Higher Education Innovation Fund: invitation to apply for special funding'.
