Regional profiles of higher education 2006

This is the eighth annual edition of 'Regional profiles of higher education'. As in previous years, the report sets out a range of data on the pattern of higher education in each of the nine regions in England. We have made many changes to the layout to improve clarity, and included additional information on sub-regions and on the student numbers used to calculate HEFCE funding.

Information for each region includes:

  • a map showing all the universities and colleges providing higher education courses, designed to be viewed on screen or printed A3 size
  • the annual income and funding of each higher education institution
  • where students come from, what subjects they study, and how they study - full-time, part-time, undergraduate and postgraduate
  • what kind of jobs students take when they graduate.
