Summary

This study by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP investigates good practice in embedding equality and diversity in organisations outside the higher education sector. The aim was to consider the ways in which individuals or organisations within higher education can learn from these experiences. In addition to good practice, this report has sought to establish what lessons have been learned and where there is still progress to be made.

The appendix gives detailed write-ups of the six case studies, which cover a global financial company, a telecoms company, an NHS Trust, a bank, a police force, and a further education college.

The study is part of a wider equal opportunities research programme, commissioned by the funding councils for England, Scotland and Wales.
