Cross-national equality and diversity

(Equal opportunities and diversity Project 5)

Summary

This study looked at five other countries - Australia, Belgium, New Zealand, South Africa and the United States – to identify effective policies and best practice which might be applied to the UK HE sector. PriceWaterhouseCoopers LLP aimed to benchmark the progress of other countries which could be mapped onto that of the UK in order to provide meaningful comparisons. The study also aimed to identify barriers which other institutions have faced, and how they have overcome them.

The study is part of a wider equal opportunities research programme, commissioned by the funding councils for England, Scotland and Wales.
