Review of the Research Capability Fund

Summary

HEFCE’s Research Capability Fund supports research in subjects where the national research base is currently not as strong as in more established subjects. This review aimed to evaluate the success of the scheme in building research capability, to identify any areas for further action, and to inform a recommendation to the HEFCE Board on whether to extend funding until 2008-09.

The Board's decision is set out in Circular letter 29/2005.
