2. Using the quality weighting approach what allocations of research degree programmes supervision funding per student FTE per annum will departments receive?

The funding per student FTE will vary by department depending on the relevant research assessment exercise (RAE) quality profile. But, the rate of funding by cost band for all funded departments, summarised by decile can be found in the table below:

The original document included the following text at paragraph 22:

  • cost band A: £5,584 to £7,413
  • cost band B: £4,609 to £6,205
  • cost band C: £3,546 to £4,830

Some of these figures were incorrect and have been updated as follows:

  • cost band A: £5,177 to £7,413
  • cost band B: £4,346 to £6,205
  • cost band C: £3,102 to £4,830
