Figure 2 Selected HE-BCI income streams 2003-2010 (real terms)

Figure 2 shows that income to HEIs from the main HE-BCI indicators for 2003-2010 has grown by around 35 per cent and by around 4 per cent over the last 12 months. These indicators are collaborative research, contract research, consultancy, equipment and facilities services, continuing professional development, regeneration and income from intellectual property. The 'other' category in the graph may also include income from the identified partners but it is not practical for HEIs to disaggregate all activity under collaborative research and regeneration for example.
